Merle “Lynn” Young, 74, of Vidor, passed away on Monday, November 11th, 2024, at Kinder Hospital Clear Lake in Webster, Texas. Born in DeRidder, Louisiana, Lynn grew up in Bridge City, Texas, before making her longtime home in Mauriceville. She retired from a dedicated career at Oak Forest Elementary School, where she touched countless young lives with her kindness and care. Lynn was a vibrant soul with a deep love for travel, music, and the beauty of nature, often found tending to her flower beds and yard with joy. Lynn is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Russell Young of Mauriceville, TX; her children, Vanessa Young-Wintner of The Woodlands, TX, Rodney Young of Beaumont, TX, and Damon Young of Austin, TX; and her brother Nathan Ashworth Sr. of Santa Fe, TX. She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren.
