Melvin “Melbo” Cade, 76, of Vidor, passed away on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023, at The VA Medical Center in Houston. A devoted and longtime resident of Vidor, Melbo’s life was marked by service, love, and a deep connection to his community. Melbo proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. His bravery and sacrifice were honored with a Purple Heart, a testament to his dedication to his fellow soldiers and his nation. Melbo is survived by his children, Kristina Raley of Vidor, TX, and Corry Raley of Vidor, TX. Melbo’s legacy continues through his 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, leaving a lasting impact on multiple generations.
