MARY HELEN GILL

Mary Helen Gill, 83, of Vidor, passed away on July 10, 2024, at Mid-Jefferson Extended Care in Beaumont, surrounded by her family. A longtime Vidor resident, Mary was a cherished member of the First Baptist Church and retired after 33 years as a bus driver with the Vidor Independent School District. She was a proud Eastern Star member and a cancer survivor since 2008. Known as the “Angel of the Cemetery,” she was patriotic, a devoted servant of the Lord, and loved feeding birds and traveling. Mary’s homemade stuffed chicken-and-dumplings were her labor of love.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Gill Mathews (Pete) and Sheila Jennings (H.L.); son, Michael Gill; brother, Marvin Kibodeaux; grandchildren: Kirk Mathews (Skylyn), Wade Jennings, Michael Miller, Joshua Jennings, Landon Gill, Ivy Lee Gill, Shanna Brucia, and Chasen Brucia; and great-grandchildren: Kannon Mathews, Hailey Jennings, McKenzie Jennings, Avery Mathews, and Noah Jennings. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, L.C. Gill, her parents, Henry Kibodeaux and Opal Katherine Arrington, her aunt, Wanda Godeaux, and granddaughter, April Jennings.
