Lela Marie McClain was called home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday July 14, 2022 in Brenham, Texas.
Lela was born May 21, 1932 to George & Ada Berwick in Starks, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar E. McClain, her parents, and her four older siblings. Survivors include her daughter Lela Darlene Lexa, grandchildren Joana MaRee White & husband Jeremy Alan, Lela Rachelle Lexa & fiancé Brelen Eric Moore, and William Charles Lexa III. Great grandchildren Dorian James White, Aiden Charles White, Laney MaRee Patricia White, Zachariah Matthew Lexa, Sarah Joan Lexa, Ashley Darlen Lexa and Kara Lynn Lexa. Brother Samuel Berwick, sisters Tressa Berwick, Annie B. Worthy, Janett Reece, Lilly M. Golden and Becky Phillips. Lela loved being with people, especially her family who she spent much time with. She enjoyed playing games and dominoes was probably her favorite. She traveled to many places including the Holy Land and saw many great places.
Services for Lela will be Monday July 18, 2022 at 2 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor, Texas as that was home to her for many many years. Visitation will be Sunday July 17th, from 6-8 PM and also Monday July 18th from 12-2 PM.
