JEWEL “FAY” FAYDEAN SELF

Jewel “Fay” Faydean Self, of Vidor, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, April 20th, 2025. She was a native of Boon Hill, North Carolina, and had made Vidor her home for many years. Fay was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidor and found great joy in the simple, meaningful things in life. A homemaker, through and through, she poured love into her family and her home, creating a warm and welcoming space for all who entered. She enjoyed fishing, tending to her garden, and spending time outdoors. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Buddy Self of Vidor, TX; her children, Larry Self of Baytown, TX, and Teri Young of Vidor, TX; and her brothers, Tommy Godwin of Garner, NC, and Eddie Godwin of Smithville, NC. Fay was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren and a great-grandmother to one great-grandson.
