Memorial services for Eddie Eugene Bush, 79, of Lufkin, will be held Friday, December 10, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin, with Harold Hancock and Reagan McClenny officiating.
Mr. Bush was born July 12, 1942, in Beaumont, Texas, to John Edward Bush and Letha Mae (Bridwell) Bush, and died on his favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 25, 2021, in Lufkin.
Mr. Bush loved spending time with his friends and family, playing golf and attending church. He enjoyed cooking and traveling. Eddie was generous, thoughtful and friendly. He never met a stranger and always made people feel welcome, treating them like family.
Mr. Bush is survived by his wife, Diane Bush of Lufkin; his son, Kenny Bush and wife, Susan of Plano, Texas; his daughter, Lisa Bush of Lufkin; his sister, Linda Castilaw and husband, Dink of Vidor, TX; his brother, Mike Bush and to reaff wife, Sheila of Boise, ID; grandchildren, Matthew Rogers, Joseph Sumrall, Jessica and Sandy Bush; four great grandchildren, Laci, Matthew and Lucy Rogers, and Evelyn Sumrall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Edward and Letha Mae Bush; and his youngest son, David Edward Bush.
Special memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital.
