ALFORD “AL” CONNELY LAYFIELD

Alford “Al” Connely Layfield, 89, of Vidor, passed away at his residence. A native of New Orleans, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and a dedicated member of Turning Point Church.

Al honorably served his country in the U.S. Army as part of the U.S. occupation force in Japan. He was passionate about supporting fellow veterans, making it his mission to ensure they had the correct information for their benefits. Additionally, he volunteered at the Christian Care Center, reflecting his deep commitment to helping others.

He loved spending time with and taking care of his family.

Al is survived by his son, Darrell Layfield of Vidor, TX; his 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Al will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His legacy of service, kindness, and dedication will be remembered always.
