Even at 7 a.m. it was already hot, but the heat was just one challenge for the 85 or so Vidor Pirate football players assembled at Pirate Stadium Monday.
“I heard about program where Marines would come and work with football teams,” VISD Athletic Director and head Football Coach Jeff Mathews explained. “ I called them up and we set the date. I think it will be great.”
