Melvin Lee "Sonny" West, 88, of Vidor, died Tuesday, June 29th, 2021 at his home. He was a longtime resident of Vidor and member of Vidor First Church of Nazarene. He retired working as a machinist. He loved going to church and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Visitation for Sonny will be Friday, July 2, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. His funeral service will be Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor beginning at 10:00 AM with interment to follow at 3:00 PM at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hornbeck, LA. Sonny is survived by the love of his life Lillie West that he married on May 22, 1959 and had 62 wonderful years of marriage together, children Marvin and wife Ruth West, Lowell and wife Cindy West, Nathan and wife Stephanie West, Arlene and husband Bill Abernathy, brother James West, cousin Huey M.
