Iris Portie Cade Ney, 96, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at her residence. A native and longtime resident of Beaumont, Iris was a retired Account Clerk from the Port of Beaumont after 23 years of faithful service. Iris loved to travel, gardening, doing volunteer work with Beaumont Bone & Joint. Iris was a longtime member & past president of NARFE Association, and a longtime faithful member of The Beaumont South Forest Park Lion's Club. Iris was a longtime member of Forest Park United Methodist Church, and a Charter member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Beaumont.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 at the funeral home.
Iris was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald E. Ney, parents Samuel and Ada Portie, brothers, daughter, Miriam Cade Nichol, Frank Portie, Delmer Portie, Sammie Portie, and Glen Portie, sisters, Adelee Kessinger, Mary Stutz, and Margie Puckett.
Iris is survived by her daughters, Patricia Cade Nolan of Bedford, TX., and Terri Cade Verde and her husband Steve Iris's very special son-in-law of Beaumont, grandchildren, Elizabeth Tanner Holland and her husband Mike, Irissa Nolan, Justin Daniels, Bill Daniels and his wife Victoria, Cody Allen, Damien Verde and his wife Amy, step grandchildren, Maureen Sapienza of Oahu, HI., Brandy Allen Neff and her husband Mike, and Adam Allen, great grandchildren, Tanner Holland, Garrett Daniels, Gaige Daniels, Gradin Daniels, Macy Verde, Jordan Verde and PJ Zacijek, Payton Zacijek, Paige Zacijek, and Makena Travis.
