Hurricane Laura took aim at Vidor and missed. After area and regional weathercasters prognosticated that Hurricane Laura was taking direct aim at the Sabine River, at the last minute, the Category 4 hurricane wobbled east about fifteen or twenty miles and eye wall shrank in diameter as it came ashore on Wednesday night, August 26 th .
