Vidor ISD Names Oak Forest Custodial Staff September Employees of the Month

2020 has been a tough year in so many ways. With COVID-19 and Hurricane Laura, many difficulties have arisen for school staff. But rising to meet the challenges is what VISD staff does, and the custodial staff at Oak Forest Elementary shines in more ways than one.

COVID costs may top $500,000 for VISD

A drop in enrollment, and costs to meet government mandated restrictions due to COVID-19 is expected to cost the Vidor ISD more than $500,000. “Our biggest concern will be enrollment,” said David Croak, Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations.

VHS Homecoming theme announced, parade postponed

The 2020 VHS Homecoming theme has been announced as “Big Buc Sails to an Island Paradise.” The 2020 VHS Homecoming is Friday, October 9, and in this most unusual year, there will be some changes.
