The Vidor Public Library has an “amnesty” program on overdue library books and DVD’s. Starting Wednesday, June 1, 2022, through Thursday, June 30, 2022, library patrons who have overdue materials (no matter how long they have had them) may return them with all fees and fines eliminated.

FBI Designates 61 Active Shooter Incidents in 2021

In 2021, the FBI designated 61 shootings as active shooter incidents. In these incidents, 103 people were killed and 140 wounded, excluding the shooters. For the period 2017–2021, active shooter incident data reveals an upward trend.
