2022 Summer Reading Program "Oceans of Possibilities"

The Vidor Public Library completed the Summer Reading Program 2022, “Oceans of Possibilities” on Wednesday, July 13th with a drive thru pickup of pizza, prizes, and cookie cake. Those who completed the program and have not picked up their prize bag, may pick up at the library.

Going in to it, everyone knew it would take time, but it’s unlikely many thought it would take two decades for zoning to be implemented in Vidor. It was back in May 1998 Vidorians expressed their opinion about zoning in a nonbinding referendum that passed by an almost 60-40 margin.

Vidor targets 38 substandard homes for demolition

The City of Vidor continues to target substandard structures for demolition and is hoping to qualify for a $700,000-plus grant from the Texas General Land Office (GLO) to demolish and clear away 38 substandard, flood or hurricane damaged building scattered across the city.
