Vidorians will likely see higher tax bill in spite of lower rate

Vidor City Council is set to approve a lower property tax rate compared to 2021 but Higher property values will likely mean a higher property tax bill for Vidor residents. Vidor City Council met Thursday and proposed a tax rate of 0.067393 for 2022, a 0.01797 percent decrease from 2021.

OCESD#1 firemen battled two residential fires last week with both causes thought to be electrical in nature said Fire Chief Robert L. Smith. On the afternoon of August 26, 2022, at approximately 2:30 PM, OCESD#1 was requested for service due to a structure fire.

Clay Walker, country music star and Vidor native has been named Parade Marshal for the 2022 Vidor High School Homecoming parade. Walker will also perform the National Anthem at the Homecoming game October 21 versus the Livingston Lions.
