Mathews to step down as coach, athletic director

For more than three decades, Jeff Mathews has helmed the Vidor Pirates, pacing the sidelines and shouting encouragement, but that era is ending. Mathews announced his last day of employment with the Vidor ISD in June 1.

Candidate filing underway for May 6 city and school elections

Candidate filing is now underway for Vidor, Rose City and Pine Forest municipal elections as well as the Vidor ISD trustee election. candidate packets are available at each respective city’s city hall and at the VISD Administration building for the trustee election.
