Early voting in the May 3 school and city election gets underway Tuesday, April 22.With the most candidates running, the City of Vidor municipal election has drawn the most interest with six candidates seeking the mayor position plus, two of three open city council seats are also contested.

Candidates for Vidor City Council have filed their first required campaign finance reports and show mayoral candidates spending thousands in the race.Incumbent mayor Misty Songe Hart has spent twice as much as the next closest candidate in that race. Hart reported expenditures of $3,604.
