Former City of Vidor HR Director Jennifer Philipps, 46, was arrested following her grand jury indictment for Theft by a Public Servant, $2,500 to $30,000. Philipps was arrested Friday on the state jail felony charge. A judge set bond at $25,000 and she has since bonded out of jail.

Orange County ESD #1 Fire Chief Robert L. Smith reported firefighters responded to a house fire on Dogwood Tuesday, April 22.Smith said, “at approxi mately 5:09p.m., OCESD#1 received a call for service due to a structure fire in the 1300 block of Dogwood.

Library clerk Sarah Screws read “Izzy the Ice Cream Fairy “by Tim Bugbird. “Izzy and her friends run a magical ice-cream stall on the beach, until one day they discover that their ice-cream well has run dry. The friends travel to a new land in search of more delicious ice cream.” The children colored wooden ice cream cut-outs for the craft and enjoyed making ice cream for their treat.
