Vidor City Council recognized JD Dixson on the occasion of his 100th birthday with a proclamation and ceremony at their meeting Thursday. Dixson was born May 4, 1924 in Glenmora ,Louisiana. As a youth, he was told it was time for him to go to work, so he went to work at 17 as a taxi driver in DeRidder after he obtained a minor’s release for a license due to his age.
