The City of Vidor and ESD #1 are hoping a successful FAST grant application will fund the purchase of a dedicated structural fire engine to replace one lost during Hurricane Imelda. The City of Vidor and the Orange County Emergency Services District #1 are hoping that by working together, the ESD can replace a fire engine that went out of service during Hurricane Imelda. Since then, local firefighters have been forced to use Rescue 1 for structure fires and rescues, increasing wear and tear and maintenance on the unit.
