10 Years ago March 17, 2011: Orange County Sheriff Keith Merritt has announced that the Citizens’ Sheriff’s Academy will begin on Tuesday, April 12th at 6:00 p.m. at the Sheriff’s office in Orange. Attendees will meet for three hours twice a week, Tuesday and Thursdays, for four weeks.

Mask mandate ends March 10; many entities to continue requiring them

While Gov. Gregg Abbott has lifted the statewide mandate to wear a mask in public and allowed all businesses to operate at full capacity, many businesses, schools and other entities say they will continue to require that masks be worn. Abbott issued the order last week, effective March 10.
